Bankroll Builder: Over 100% Rakeback at Victory Poker

Blockbuster rakeback deals have been harder to come by in recent years, but there’s one currently available at Victory Poker that might be of interest for the value-chasing player.

The short version: Thanks to a combination of a high rakeback rate and an easy-to-clear deposit bonus that isn’t deducted from your rakeback, players can (temporarily) get over 100% rakeback at Victory Poker. The details: Victory is currently offering two first-time deposit bonuses – Winner (100% up to $600) and Victory300 (300% up to $1500). Let’s take apart each one and see what the value is.

Winner: deposit the full $600 and you’ll get a $600 bonus. To earn the bonus, you need to earn 15x the amount of the bonus in Poker Points within 30 days. Poker Points are earned at the rate of 10 points for every dollar raked. So, to clear the $600 bonus, you’ll need to rake $900 (600 x 15 = 9000 points needed to clear the bonus; each dollar of rake earns you 10 points, so 900 x 10 = 9000).

While you’re clearing the bonus, you’ll be earning 40% rakeback. So, on the $900 you rake, you’ll get 40% back, or $360. Add that to the $600 bonus you clear, and for the first $900 you rake on Victory Poker you’ll earn $960 – better than 100% rakeback (106% or thereabouts).

You’ll get additional value out of internal rake races held by Victory, along with freerolls, etc.

Victory 300: This bonus doesn’t pay as good of a rate, but it does pay you more in terms of real dollars. The Victory bonus is a 300% up to $1500, so if you deposit $500 you get the full bonus of $1500. This bonus is tougher to clear, unsurprisingly – you need 85 x the bonus in points.

What rate does that break down to? Well, you need 127,500 points to clear the bonus, so you need to rake $12,750. While raking that amount, you’ll earn the $1500 plus your 40% rakeback ($5100) for a total of $6600 earned, or just about 515% rakeback – still a great rate (and more dollars in real terms) but perhaps not as appealing for someone looking to earn the bonus.
